Third Thing is a newsletter about third things, no theme. Third to me, the first person writing this and second to you, a reader I am grateful to have.

Life’s too short and we’re all too noncommittal to receive a newsletter on the same theme. You’ll see the same ideas and feelings cropping up but mostly the topic is driven by what’s on my mind which is a combination of the media I’ve been consuming, what I’ve been talking to my friends about, and what lens I’m currently seeing the world through. Let’s be online friends!

This is an outlet for me to share my hopefully interesting thoughts in a more coherent manner. I have never considered myself much of a writer and for a long time I was terrified of expressing a strong opinion on anything, partially as a function of being female and therefore socialized to doubt myself and qualify everything I say, and partially because I thought that anything you write and share with an audience in a formal (or in this case, semi-formal) manner must be unique and groundbreaking and unimpeachable. Now I have finally consumed enough content to realize that there are plenty of bad and/or half-baked takes out there and I think I can assess that mine are at least baked to the point where the fork comes out mostly clean.

You can also find me on Twitter.
