Another banger (do people still use this slang term nowadays? Slang evolves so fast lolol) post! Once again aaaaaaaaa you so beautifully articulate stuff that I wholly resonate with and have experienced! Like I don't even know where to begin to describe all these messy feelings, and reading your newsletter honestly rly helps me process/think/etc about these things. Thanks for writing, as always!
I think an underrated part of "enjoying your rent" is not just enjoying being at home but also enjoying the psychological safety that comes with having a place to go home to...when I'm out and getting tired/bored/anxious (or I'm reluctant to go out bc I'm afraid of becoming tired/bored/anxious etc.) the knowledge that I can always just go home when I don't feel like being out anymore is extremely valuable. Realized this recently when I went home after a disappointing night out and passed by a lot of unhoused people who cannot "just go home" whenever they feel like it. I'm getting my rent's worth even when I'm not at home because the place to return to at the end of the day/night is what enables me to "go out" in the first place (as opposed to a constant state of being outside)
5/5 total ROI reading this
no no it’s time to appreciate the immeasurable joy and free ourselves
agreed
